Y​oga team from Oman wins laurels at World Championship

Muscat: A team of 14 athletes along with their trainer represented the Sultanate of Oman and achieved a glittering success at the 1st World Yogasana Championship held in Ahmedabad, India from June 4 to 8, 2026.

The Omani team led by their captain Manar al Maskari; Salha Hakim, the President; Anuradha, Secretary and Team Coach; and Jeevitha, team manager along with 13 Athletes represented the team ‘Positive Energy, Oman’, and showcased remarkable dedication, discipline, and excellence throughout the championship.

Competing against participants from 78 countries, the Oman team achieved outstanding success by winning 21 medals, including 8 Silver Medals and 13 Bronze Medals. Their impressive performance secured Oman the 12th position in the overall rankings among all participating nations.

The athletes showcased exceptional talent and determination on the global stage, reflecting the hard work invested in their preparation and training. Their achievement is a proud moment for Oman and highlights the growing popularity and success of Yogasana sports in the country.

The championship provided an excellent platform for athletes from around the world to demonstrate their skills, promote cultural exchange, and strengthen international sporting ties. The Oman team’s success stands as an inspiration to aspiring Yogasana athletes and marks a significant milestone in the development of Yogasana sports in the Sultanate.
