SalamAir launches flights to Kigali, Rwanda
SalamAir, the low-cost carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, officially launched a new direct service between Muscat and Kigali, Rwanda, to strengthen its network in Africa.
An official ceremony was held at Muscat International Airport, attended by senior officials and representatives from SalamAir, Oman Airports, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Oman, as well as aviation partners, travel and tourism representatives, and members of the media.
SalamAir had previously announced that ticket sales would begin on April 30, 2026, with the inaugural flight to Kigali scheduled for July 21. An official delegation from the Sultanate of Oman was on board to mark the celebration of SalamAir’s newest destination.
Lieutenant General Dan Munyoza, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Sultanate of Oman, said: “The launch of direct flights between Kigali and Muscat marks a significant milestone in strengthening air connectivity between the Republic of Rwanda and the Sultanate of Oman. This new route will support the growing movement of passengers, business, and goods between the two countries, in addition to providing further opportunities in tourism, trade, and investment. We welcome this step and look forward to its contribution to consolidating bilateral relations and enhancing communication between the people of both countries.”

SalamAir will operate two weekly flights on the new route, providing passengers with a convenient and economical travel option between Muscat and Kigali, along with easy connections to its network of destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
