Omani Food Firms Target Eastern European Markets via Moscow Trade Expo

A group of 16 food and agricultural companies will take part in the WorldFood Moscow 2026 trade exhibition in Russia. This is part of a planned effort by the Sultanate to grow its exports that’re not related to oil in markets across Eurasia.
The event is being held with the support of Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion. It is also supported by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The pavilion will show food products that are processed locally, drinks, agricultural items, and packaged goods. The four-day international trade show will take place from September 15 to 18 at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. This event is one of the commercial opportunities in Eurasia for people who buy food, retail items, and hospitality supplies.
Ministry officials emphasized that establishing a unified Omani commercial presence at the exhibition aligns directly with the strategic mandates of Oman Vision 2040.

The national economic roadmap prioritizes foreign market penetration, non-oil export diversification, and scaling the operational capacities of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By promoting high-grade national products abroad, economic planners aim to reduce revenue reliance on crude oil fluctuations while fostering sustainable long-term expansion across the agricultural, fisheries, and manufacturing sectors.
Participation in the Moscow expo provides Omani commercial representatives direct access to thousands of international procurement managers, wholesale distributors, retail chain buyers, and institutional investors from across Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Alongside product displays, the Omani delegation plans to lead business-to-business (B2B) networking sessions, explore regional supply chain partnerships, and negotiate distribution agreements to secure retail shelf space across Eastern European supply networks.
The international trade push follows recent economic indicators showing steady momentum in Oman’s non-oil sector. Non-oil exports of national origin reached approximately OMR 3.6 billion ($9.35 billion) by mid-2026, driven by higher manufacturing output and proactive trade diplomacy connecting Omani producers with high-growth international markets.
