New section of Sultan Turki bin Said Road opens

SUR: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology announced the opening of new sections of the Sultan Turki bin Said Road, raising the rate of implementation of the project to 91 per cent.

The road extends 52 kilometres in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate from the Wilayat of Al Kamil W’al Wafi to the Wilayat of Sur.

The project is a step forward in the ministry’s efforts to boost the national road network linking the wilayats and governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

So far, sections totalling 31 kilometres of the Sultan Turki bin Said Road have been opened. A section of 5 kilometres of the road will be opened in September 2026. The remaining sections of the carriageway will be opened as scheduled. – ONA
